11.1.07 RPAC PHONE BANK HUGE SUCCESS!       LVAR set an ambitious goal this year to raise $51,500 for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). In order try and reach our goal and encourage more investments in RPAC, the LVAR Government Affairs Committee conducted an RPAC phone bank on October 18. The idea was to personally contact as many members as possible who have not invested in RPAC yet in 2007. It was a tremendous success, as the 9 volunteers raised a combined $3,284 in a matter of 4 hours! Special thanks to Marci Carter, Broker of Weichert Bethlehem, for graciously allowing us to use her office to conduct the phone bank. Also, special thanks to our volunteers: Luis Campos, Kim Capers, Tom Flad, Tiffany Hayward, Joe McGavin, George Raad, Frank Renaldi, Jr., Sam Ruta, and Bruce Stimmel! Congratulations on a great job! Until your state PAC reaches its RPAC goal 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a; after the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal it may elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.
