LVAR is continuing the process of building successful working relationship with the Lehigh Valley's State Legislators.
REALTORS® continue to be at the forefront of legislative discussions regarding property tax relief. Our goal is to ensure that any proposal does not include an increase in the Realty Transfer Tax or Sales Tax on Services.
9.12.05 - LVAR President, George Raad, and Government Affairs Director, Ryan Conrad, met with Representative Steve Samuelson (D - 135th) to reiterate REALTORS® opposition to an increase in the Realty Transfer Tax.
9.14.05 - Representative Julie Harhart (R - 183rd) welcomed LVAR President, George Raad; LVAR CEO, Rosemary Scardina; and Government Affairs Director, Ryan Conrad to share our thoughts on the Commonwealth Caucus' proposal to increase the Realty Transfer Tax.
9.15.05 - LVAR President, George Raad; LVAR CEO, Rosemary Scardina; and Government Affairs Director, Ryan Conrad, met with Representative T.J. Rooney (D - 133rd). Representative Rooney also serves as the Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairman.
9.22.05 - LVAR President, George Raad and Government Affairs Director, Ryan Conrad met with Representative Richard Grucela (D - 137th) to express REALTORS® interest in being at the table during property tax relief negotiations.
9.30.05 - Representative Jennifer Mann (D - 132nd) welcomed LVAR President George Raad, LVAR CEO Rosemary Scardina, and Government Affairs Director Ryan Conrad to her district office in Allentown. President Raad stressed the importance of protecting the future of homeownership by opposing an increase in the Realty Transfer Tax.
As of September 30th, members of LVAR have met personally with all fourteen State Legislators in the Lehigh Valley area to express their concerns with the Commonwealth Caucus's proposal to increase the Realty Transfer Tax and impose a Sales Tax on commissions.
